Sell Your Silver?
With the economy taking the scenic route in terms of getting around full recovery, not everybody is up to speed on getting themselves back to where they were. You could need that little extra boost to get yourself out of debt or if you just want that little extra cash on hand. If you have quite a number of quality silver pieces, then you could be in for a “gold mine,” so to speak. There are many ways out there to take if you want to sell silver.
Buy Silver - The Dollar is Losing Value
Where To Start?
Get your silver and have it appraised. Don’t be scared to have it appraised by more than one person. Just because you get a low first appraisal doesn’t mean that you can’t get a better deal elsewhere. You have to find out the quality of your silver first: know whether it is sterling silver or silver plated. If your piece is an antique, you may want to consider approaching an auction house to be able to fetch a larger amount for you silver. But the fastest and easiest way to get money for your silver is by selling them online. There are plenty of dedicated websites that will buy your silver immediately. So look around and shop for the best bargain.
It can be a piece of jewelry or maybe some really exquisite silverware or maybe some silver coins, you can sell any kind of silver nowadays, even scrap silver. Your pieces may be broken or incomplete but for the silver that it is worth, it can still be able to fetch a good sum but it has to be of good quality and the right kind of silver. In the US, Sterling silver is always stamped properly. Other continental silvers such as the ones in Europe and South America are a little bit trickier with their silver markings but overall sterling silver is set at 92.5% silver, that is the world standard and that is what should be followed for it to be considered sterling silver.
Now don’t forget to make a study of other people who are selling their silver. Ask where they are selling, take notice of their ads if they have any of sites such as Craigslist. Like all negotiations, be wary of shady characters wanting to buy your silver as well. Everybody is a potential client to sell to but at the same time, everyone is a prime suspect in trying to con you out of getting less for your silver’s worth. Don’t get intimidation get the better of you. Just be ready, willing and able come negotiating time when it comes time to sell silver.
